Qwen3.8 2.4T A95B — Open Weights With Enforced ZDR Routing
August 13, 2026
You can now select Qwen's open-weight Max-class model through OpenRouter when you want large-context, tool-using reasoning with the underlying inference endpoint restricted to Zero Data Retention (ZDR).
What you can do
- Select Qwen3.8 2.4T A95B [ZDR] manually — this is a separate option from the direct EU Qwen 3.8 Max service.
- Use the open-weight Qwen3.8 model — it is a sparse mixture-of-experts model with 2.4 trillion total parameters and 95 billion active parameters.
- Work with up to a 1M-token context window — Alfrada OS caps a single response at 52,429 output tokens.
- Use reasoning and tools — the route supports mandatory reasoning, tool calling, and structured outputs.
- Add it to Swarm — the model is available for parallel multi-agent work.
- Require a ZDR inference endpoint — every request tells OpenRouter to use only Zero Data Retention endpoints and to refuse any that collect request data.
Where this shows up
- You want the open-weight Qwen3.8 model for a long coding, research, or agentic workflow, but you do not want OpenRouter to fall back to an inference endpoint that retains prompts or responses.
- You are building a Swarm and want a Max-class open-weight reasoner alongside other workers.
- You need Qwen 3.8 with image or video input, EU routing, or Auto selection. Choose Qwen 3.8 Max instead; the new OpenRouter option is text-only, global, and manually selected.
Try it
- Pick Qwen3.8 2.4T A95B [ZDR] in the picker, then: "Audit this repository, call the tools you need, and return a prioritized remediation plan."
- "Build a Swarm that includes Qwen3.8 2.4T A95B [ZDR] to research, challenge, and synthesize this proposal."
- With Qwen3.8 2.4T A95B [ZDR] selected: "Reason through this long technical record before drafting the decision memo."
Heads up
- ZDR is enforced as an OpenRouter routing requirement — Alfrada OS requires Zero Data Retention and denies data collection on every request. OpenRouter may only choose an endpoint it currently marks as Zero Data Retention. If none is available, the request fails instead of using a retaining endpoint.
- This is not the direct Alibaba API route — OpenRouter routes requests to third-party inference providers. The existing Qwen 3.8 Max option continues to use Alibaba Model Studio directly in Germany.
- Text only — the open-weight route accepts and returns text. Use Qwen 3.8 Max for image or video input.
- Manual selection only — it is excluded from Auto routing, but remains available in Swarm.
- Billing — the route sits on the Workhorse 3× token band.
