New Decks And Word Documents Build In The Dashboards Panel — Editable PPTX And DOCX
October 16, 2026
New slide decks and Word documents now start as a page in the Dashboards panel. You see the whole deck or document live, then download it as an editable PowerPoint (.pptx) or Word (.docx) file. The file is rebuilt natively from the page, not pasted in as screenshots, so every title, paragraph and table stays editable.
What you can do
- Get a 16:9 deck as editable PowerPoint. Ask for a presentation and Alfrada OS builds it on 1280×720 slides with ten layouts: title, section, content, split, cards, KPIs, chart, table, quote and steps. Text lands as real text boxes with the page's fonts, sizes, colours and links, styled boxes become editable shapes, and charts and images become pictures.
- Get an A4 or Letter document as editable Word. Reports, memos, proposals, briefs and letters build on the new document layout. Headings become real Word headings (they show in the navigation pane and work with a table of contents), lists become native bullet and numbered lists, and tables become Word tables with their shading and borders. A long table repeats its header row on every page. Callouts, KPI cards and side-by-side columns keep their layout, and charts land as pictures.
- Get the download link in the reply. Ask for "the PowerPoint" or "the Word file" and the link arrives in the same answer. You don't need a second message asking for the export.
- Export from the panel whenever you like. The Dashboards panel shows PPTX for decks and DOCX for documents, next to PDF, PNG and HTML.
- Revise by asking. "Change slide 3's title" or "add a risks section" edits the same page and re-exports it. You get a fresh file and the panel updates in place.
- Keep your brand without your old layouts. Point Alfrada OS at a template you saved under Settings → Templates (or a
.pptx/.docxyou uploaded) and say new layouts are fine. It takes the template's theme colours, heading and body fonts and logo, and applies them to the new deck or document.
Where this shows up
You need a board deck by this afternoon. Ask for 10 slides from your notes, look through them in the panel, ask for two fixes, then download the .pptx and open it in PowerPoint to tweak the wording.
Legal wants the memo "in Word, not PDF". Ask for a two-page A4 memo. It opens in Word or Pages with real headings, a numbered list and a table you can keep editing.
Marketing hands you the company template but the layouts don't fit this story. Ask for a new deck "with our template's colours, fonts and logo — new layouts are fine", and the deck comes back on-brand.
Try it
- "Build a 10-slide QBR deck from these notes with a KPI slide, a revenue chart and a next-steps slide, and give me the PowerPoint."
- "Write a two-page A4 board memo on the pricing change with a summary, a numbered list of options and a comparison table, as a Word file."
- "Make a new pitch deck using the colours, fonts and logo from my saved template brand-deck.pptx. New layouts are fine. Send me the PPTX."
- "On the deck you just made, change slide 4's chart to quarterly figures and send the updated file."
Heads up
- Your own files keep their own tools. To change a
.pptxyou uploaded while keeping its design, use PPTX Patch. To fill a Word template or edit a.docxyou sent, use Doc Patch. The template's own masters and layouts are only kept on those routes; the new path carries over the brand (colours, fonts and logo), not the template's layouts. - Charts arrive as pictures. In the PowerPoint and Word files, charts are high-resolution images, not native Office charts. Ask for a data table next to the chart if your reader needs to edit the numbers.
- Page size decides the Office format. PPTX needs a fixed-size slide deck (new decks use 1280×720), and DOCX needs an A4 or Letter page. The built-in dashboard layouts print on A4, so they also offer DOCX: KPI cards and charts come through as tables and pictures. A custom page with no page size exports to PDF, PNG and HTML only.
- Presentation Create is still there. Ask for it by name if you want the classic slide-template decks. New decks go to the Dashboards panel by default.
